お正月休みにふと PC 環境をエンハンスしたくなり、とりあえず手頃な所でメインマシンのケースを IW-BR661 に交換してみた。 In-Win といえば質実剛健な作りながらも、ちょっと野暮ったい感じのケースデザインが玉にキズ…な印象があったのだが、最近発売したモデルはどれも（アクが強いながらも）頑張っている感じ。代理店のページによると、IW-BR661 は鎧をまとった中世の騎士のようなスタイリッシュな外観のPCケースとのことだが、俺にはどうも Dead Space のアイザックさんの顔に見えるよ。

ケース付属のファンを静音性の高いものや LED 付きのものに交換したり、サイドパネルのパンチングメッシュをとおして PC 内部が透けて見えるので、CPU クーラーをサイドフローのかっこいいものに交換したりで、結局なんだかんだと散財してしまった(;´Д`)

旧ケース (こちらも In-Win 製) はセカンドマシンの自宅サーバーへとスライドし、写真右側に写っている星野金属のシルバーのケースは玉突き的にお役御免に。星野のアルミケースってば見栄えはグッドルッキンだけど、内部のベイにアクセスするのにも何個もネジを外す必要がある一時代前の整備性の上、ネジ規格が PC 周りでポピュラーなインチではなくミリネジだったり、ケースファンの口径が 80mm で静音ファンの選択肢が少なかったりと、長年堆積してきた細かい不満がようやく解消した。

Orcs Must Die! はネットでの評判通り面白かった。ボイスまで完全に日本語化されているし声優さんも上手い。つい DLC まで買ってしまった。 Tropico4 は 3 のマイナーバージョンアップ版という感じで、目新しさは無いものの手堅く面白い。これのせいで Skyrim がなかなか進まなくなってしまった。

Skyrim はセール前に購入して、寄り道せずメインクエを進めているところ。お楽しみの探索やサブクエなどは CK がリリースされた後の２周目以降ということで。

昨年は東北地方でとても大きな災害が起こりましたが、我が家族に限っては大きな怪我や病気もなく過ごせて、大変ありがたく思っております。

スケート行ってきた

家族で大阪プールのスケートリンクに行ってきた。

スケートは始めての息子は、テレビで見るフィギュアのイメージしか頭になかったため、すぐに滑れてジャンプやらできると思っていたようで、現実とのギャップにかなり打ちのめされていたようだ。それでも数時間後には氷の上に立って、壁に捕まらずに歩けるくらいにはなっていてので大したものだと思った。

アイススケートといえば、寒いリンク脇であつあつのうどんやカップヌードルを食べるのが一つの醍醐味だと思うのですが、今回は奥さんがお目付け役として付いて来ていたので、そういう愉しみを息子に教えてあげられなかったのが心残り(;´Д`)また行こうと思う

合皮を切り出すときの型紙は、コシのある厚紙か薄手のプラ板をつかうと便利。
